- Mixed Emotions.
Glenda Bashor (Director, Insurance Clients Services – Life & Health) resigned at the end
of February this year. She and her husband, Andrew, have chosen to go into full-time
work for HOPE Force International, a charity organization that helps victims of natural
disasters. You may recall the Glenda and Andrew had been volunteers for this
organization for some time. While we are thrilled of their passion to serve others in this
vital capacity, we're nonetheless very sad to be losing Glenda. While we will miss her
greatly, we wish her and Andrew the very best in this new mission vocation!
- It's Homecoming!
You'll be recognizing a familiar face back in our office again on your next visit. Kim
Mueller (Investment Clients Services) has returned to join us again and we're thrilled to
have her back. Kim worked for us for approx. 5 years before she and her husband, Brian,
moved to Colorado Springs, CO. Now, 5 years later, she's back and we couldn't be
happier. Welcome home, Kim!
- There's a New "Kid" in Town!
We are thrilled to welcome Dana Short (Insurance Client Services) to our firm and
anxious for you to meet her. She is replacing Glenda Bashor for reasons noted above.
Dana has already been on the job for over a month and has amazed us at how fast she's
been able to pick up where Glenda left off. Dana brings lots of experience with her in this
role and we're confident you'll appreciate her dedication and warm personality as much as
you did Glenda's. Great to have you in our family, Dana!
- Speaking of Big Changes…!
As noted above, we're blessed to have Dana Short (Insurance Client Services) join our
family. And if making a job change wasn't enough excitement for her, Dana added on a
new husband as well. Congratulations to Dana and Rick on their marriage, and we
welcome Rick to our extended family. We wish you both the very best and we're glad to
be a part of your lives!
- We do it for You, Not for Awards!
Occasionally our commitment to excellence gains recognition from others outside our
client base. While our focus and priority begins and ends with our clients, it's nonetheless
nice to be recognized by "outsiders". Jake Jacobson, Jeff Schmeltekopf and Tim Lowry
were all selected as "FIVE STAR Wealth Managers – Best in Client Satisfaction" by Texas
Monthly magazine. We hope you feel the same way!
- Check Out Our New Digs!
Perhaps you've noticed over the past few years that we've been gradually updating our
office. Well, we have just completed our final (and largest) phase of this update by
completely renovating our reception area, workroom area, client restrooms, conference
room and kitchen. Wow, what a difference this has made! We look forward to showing
off our new digs to you next time you're in our office. You'll notice the dramatic
difference as soon as you walk in the front door. Most of all, we hope the changes will
make your visits to our office more enjoyable and comfortable!
- Congratulations, Diva!!
Congratulations to Charly Lemmons (daughter of Jeff and Judy Schmeltekopf) for being
selected to the top Texas All-State Choir for her 3rd consecutive year! Charly has just
completed her senior at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) and will be attending
Baylor University on both an academic and music scholarship this coming fall. Charly was
awarded the largest single scholarship offered by the Voice Department at Baylor for
2011. She plans to major in Vocal Performance. Charly was also offered scholarships
from some of the most prestigious music schools in America in both violin and voice.
Awesome job, Charly! And Sic'em BEARS!!

Shake Those Pom-Poms!!
Congratulations to Ellie Schmeltekopf (daughter of Jeff and Judy Schmeltekopf) for being
selected as Varsity Cheerleader for Arlington Heights High School (AHHS) for 2011-2012.
Ellie will be a senior this coming fall and will be cheering on some terrific sports teams for
AHHS. Heights always has a strong baseball program and their basketball team went all
the way to the State playoffs in Austin this past year before losing to La Marque Cougars
in the semi-finals. We'll be cheering for Ellie on the sidelines as she cheers on her Yellow
Jackets! Go Jackets!

Like Father, Like Son?
Congratulations to Kirby Jacobson (son of Jake and Linda Jacobson) for passing the
difficult Level I Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. Kirby is currently working as a
financial strategist for a private firm in Dallas. The CFA is perhaps the most difficult
charter/designation to achieve in the financial services industry, but we're not surprised a
bit that Kirby passed every section of the first of 3 exams. Great work, Kirby! We're
impressed… and now back to the books for Level II!!

We're Helping China Grow, Too!
Katherine (receptionist) sent her son, John, off to China on April 25th. It's always tough
when the kids are far away and we'll be praying for both Katherine and John. John is
moving to China to teach English classes as a second language to 9 and 10 year olds at a
school in Dongying, China. Good luck, John!
