
Don A. "Jake" Jacobson, CLU, ChFC is co-owner and President of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC. He is also President and co-shareholder of Jade Plan Services, Inc. (an affiliated Pension Administration Company). Jake has been active in wealth management, financial planning and retirement planning since 1975 with a special emphasis in the areas of investment management and pension administration. He earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations through the American College. Jake belongs to several financial planning professional organizations including the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Fort Worth Business and Estate Planning Council, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the National Committee for Planned Giving. He is also a qualifying member of the elite Chairman’s Council for LPL Financial.
Mr. Jacobson has served as a Director and Board Member on several corporate and charitable boards. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Finance Committee of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He also serves on the Finance Committee for the United Methodist Central Texas Conference Foundation and the Colleyville United Methodist Gifts and Endowment Board. He has also served as the Finance Chairperson for the United Community Centers, a non- profit agency in partnership with the United Way of Tarrant County. Mr. Jacobson was a founding member of the United Community Centers Foundation and served as Chairperson of the United Methodist Central Texas Conference Board of Pensions.
Jake is a Texan by choice. He grew up in Wisconsin where he attended college then chose to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to begin a career in insurance. Jake is married to Linda Jacobson (also with our firm), and they have three sons; Justin, Kirby, and Russell. He was also very excited about his first grandchild who was born last spring. When away from the office, Jake is a competitive water skier and enjoys snow skiing, occasional rounds of golf, and attending Dallas Stars hockey games.
Jeffrey J. Schmeltekopf, CLU, ChFC, CFP® is co-owner and Vice President of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC and has been with the firm since 1989. He is also Vice President and co-shareholder of JADE Plan Services, Inc. (an affiliated Pension Administration Company). Jeff specializes in the areas of investment management and risk management planning and has been active in wealth management, financial planning and related areas his entire career. Jeff is a graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing. Jeff began his career in the insurance industry in 1984, quickly rising to Director of Marketing for a small insurance company in Waco, Texas. He has earned several professional designations including, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Jeff is a member of professional organizations including the Financial Planners Association, Baylor University Estate Planning Council, Dallas Estate Planning Council, Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the National Committee for Planned Giving. He served for 3 years as a Special Advisor to the President and Board of Trustees of the National Association of Health Underwriters on Long Term Care insurance taxation and policy matters. He is also a qualifying member of the elite Chairman’s Council for LPL Financial. Jeff has been a featured speaker on financial planning topics throughout Texas and nationally.
Jeff is very active in his local church and has served on numerous other charitable organizations and advisory boards. He is currently Chairman of Baylor Business Network of Fort Worth and serves on the Board of Directors for Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County (an Affiliate Agency of the United Way). He is also a 3-term Past President of the Fort Worth Baylor Alumni Association.
Jeff grew up in Burleson, just ten miles south of Fort Worth, and has lived in this area most of his life. He is married to Judy Schmeltekopf (who manages the firm’s internal accounting) and they have four children; Emily, Eric, Eleanor, and Charly. When not consumed by work and family activities, Jeff is an avid golf and tennis player.
Timothy C. Lowry, CFP®, ChFC is co-owner and Partner of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC. He joined the Firm in August 2002. Prior to joining the Firm, Tim worked as Associate Planner for an independent financial planner in Nashville, Tennessee. Tim specializes in investment management and comprehensive financial planning. Much of his time is spent focusing on client planning issues, investment research, and asset allocation decisions within client portfolios. He conducts research for the Firm’s investment policies and services clients in all aspects of financial planning and wealth management including investments, tax, estate and insurance areas. Tim also acts as primary liaison with the vast universe of active mutual fund managers and investment company representatives that the Firm utilizes. Tim is a graduate of Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Family Financial Planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER
®; practitioner (CFP
®) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Tim is a member of several professional organizations including the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Financial Planning Association, Society of Financial Service Professionals, and is an active member of his local church. Tim is a native Texan, being raised in Abilene. He is married to Sarah and they have three children, Lauren, David and Emily. In addition to loving his roles as a dad and husband, Tim's hobbies include golf, tennis and watching college football.
Linda K. Jacobson, CIC is Director of Property & Casualty
Insurance Services for Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC. She joined the firm in
June 2000. Even prior to joining the firm, Linda worked closely with us for several years through her previous position,
Assistant Vice President of Healthcare Insurance Services, Inc. in Houston, a brokerage firm specializing
in liability insurance for the health care industry. Linda brings a great depth of experience to
our team, over 20 years, specializing in liability insurances with a concentration in the health
care field. Linda is a graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration
in Finance. She has also earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation through The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and is currently
pursuing the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation. Linda is also active in professional organizations
including North Texas Society of Healthcare Risk Managers and the American Society of Healthcare
Risk Managers. She is married to Jake Jacobson, the firm's President. Linda's hobbies include shopping,
traveling and pampering her cats.
Brenda M. Daussin, CRC, FLMI
is Director of Retirement Services for JADE Plan Services, Inc. (an affiliated Pension Administration Company of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC). Brenda specializes in pension administration and manages the day-to-day operations of JADE. She re-joined JADE in the fall of 2007, returning to the position she held from 1993-2001. Brenda brings a wealth of experience, over 24 years, to this position. Along with her experience at JADE, Brenda has worked for several other prominent companies in pension administration, including Group Pension Operations at Pan American Life Insurance Company. Brenda is a Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) and has earned the Fellow, Life Management Institute® (FLMI®) designation. She is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and the Dallas/Fort Worth ASPPA Benefits Council. Brenda is married to Jerry and is also active in various charitable causes, most notably the Children’s Home of Selma, Alabama. Her hobbies include entertaining, biking and golf.
The support staff at Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC (DJFS) work in tandem with
the partners and professional associates. Our staff has formal weekly meetings with all the advisors
to stay abreast of all client accounts. In addition to preparing reports and monitoring activity,
our support staff is regularly included and involved in client meetings and planning sessions in
order to determine the most efficient and effective ways to provide our services. All DJFS support
staff adhere to the same principles as the partners and our professional associates regarding our
clients' personal and business dealings: absolute confidentiality, full disclosure, professionalism,
and accessibility.
