
Don A. "Jake" Jacobson, CLU, ChFC is co-owner and Partner of Dean, Jacobson Financial
Services, LLC. He serves as the firm's President and Manager for our Office of Supervisory
Jurisdiction (OSJ). Jake is also co-shareholder and President of Jade Plan Services, Inc. (a
Pension Administration Company). Jake has been active in wealth management, financial
planning and retirement planning since 1975 with a special emphasis in the areas of
investment management and pension administration. He earned the Chartered Financial
Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations through the American
College. Jake belongs to several financial planning professional organizations including the
Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), National Association of Insurance and
Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP). He has
been recognized multiple times as a "FIVE STAR Wealth Manager – Best in Client
Satisfaction" by Texas Monthly magazine and has earned numerous distinctions and
recognitions from investment and financial firms across the nation.
Jake has served as a Director and Board Member on several corporate and charitable boards.
Currently, he is serving as a member of the Finance Committee of the National Board of
Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He also serves on the Finance Committee for the United
Methodist Central Texas Conference Foundation. He has previously served on the Colleyville
United Methodist Gifts and Endowment Board and as the Finance Chairperson for the United
Community Centers, a non- profit agency in partnership with the United Way of Tarrant
County. Jake was a founding member of the United Community Centers Foundation and
served as Chairperson of the United Methodist Central Texas Conference Board of Pensions.
Jake is a Texan by choice. He grew up in Wisconsin where he attended college then chose
to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to begin a career in insurance. Jake is
married to Linda Jacobson (also with our firm), and they have three sons; Justin (married to
Rachael), Kirby (married to Angela), and Russell (a senior at Texas Tech). Jake is also a
proud grandfather of two grandchildren (Kinsley and Gracelyn). When away from the office,
Jake is an accomplished water skier and enjoys snow skiing, occasional rounds of golf, and
attending Dallas Stars hockey games.
Jeffrey J. Schmeltekopf, CLU, ChFC, CFP®, AIF® is co-owner and Partner of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC
and has been with the firm since 1989. He is also co-shareholder and Vice President of JADE
Plan Services, Inc. (a Pension Administration Company). Jeff specializes in the areas of
investment management and risk management planning and has been active in wealth
management, financial planning and related areas his entire career. Jeff is a graduate of
Baylor University, Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in
Marketing. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1984, quickly rising to Director
of Marketing for Texas Consumer Life Insurance Company in Waco, Texas.
Jeff has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner designation as
well as the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Financial
Planners Association (FPA), Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), Partnership for
Philanthropic Planning (PPP), and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Managers
(ASHRM). Jeff has been recognized multiple times as a "FIVE STAR Wealth Manager – Best
in Client Satisfaction" by Texas Monthly magazine and has earned numerous distinctions and
recognitions from investment and financial firms across the nation. He has been a
contributing guest on World Business Review and has been a featured speaker on numerous
investment, risk management, and financial planning topics at conferences and events all
across Texas and nationally.
Jeff is the son of a prominent Texas Baptist minister and became an ordained deacon at the
age of 28. He is very active in his local church where he has been a member for over 20
years, serving in many leadership and teaching capacities over the years. Jeff is also very
involved in his local community, serving on numerous charitable organizations and advisory
boards. He is currently Chairman of the Baylor Business Network of Fort Worth and was a 3-term President of the Fort Worth Baylor Alumni Association. Jeff is a member of the Board of
Directors for Baylor All Saints Health Care Center and the Board of Directors for Junior
Achievement of The Chisholm Trail, Inc. through which he also volunteers as a Business
Ethics and Economics teacher. He is also serving in his 8th year on the Board of Directors for
Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County (an affiliate agency of the United Way)
holding the position of Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Jeff grew up in Burleson, just ten miles south of Fort Worth, and has lived in this area most
of his life. He is married to Judy (financial manager of the firm) and they have 4 children,
Emily (married to Robert Nichols), Eric (a senior at Baylor), Charly (a freshman at Baylor) and
Ellie (a senior at Arlington Heights High School). When not consumed by work and family
activities, Jeff and his wife are enthusiastic supporters of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra
and Baylor University. Jeff is also an avid golf and tennis player.
Timothy C. Lowry, CFP®, ChFC is co-owner and Partner of Dean, Jacobson Financial
Services, LLC and has been with the Firm since 2002. Prior to joining the Firm, Tim worked
as Associate Planner for an independent financial advisor in Nashville, Tennessee. Tim
specializes in investment management, model portfolio design, comprehensive financial
planning and wealth management. Much of his time is spent focusing on client planning
issues, investment research, and asset allocation decisions within client portfolios. Tim
conducts ongoing research for the Firm's investment policies and strategies and services
clients in all aspects of financial planning and wealth management including investments, tax,
estate and insurance areas. Tim also serves as primary liaison with the vast universe of
active mutual fund managers and investment company representatives that the Firm utilizes.
Tim is a graduate of Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas with a Bachelor of Science (BS)
in Family Financial Planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP
®)
and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Tim is a member of several professional
organizations including the Financial Planning Association (FPA), Society of Financial Service
Professionals (SFSP), and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors

Tim is a very active member of his local church. He is currently serving on the church's
Deacon Board and is involved in several other volunteer responsibilities. Tim is a native
Texan, being raised in Abilene. He is married to Sarah and they have three pre-school
children, Lauren, David and Emily. In addition to loving his roles as a dad and husband, Tim's
hobbies include golf, tennis and watching college football, especially the Red Raiders. Tim
has also taken on a new mini-farm hobby with his kids of raising hens at their home in Aledo.
Linda K. Jacobson, CIC is Managing Director of Property & Casualty Insurance Services for
Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC and has been with the Firm since 2000. Even prior to
joining the Firm, Linda worked closely with our Advisors for several years through her
position as Assistant Vice President of Healthcare Insurance Services, Inc. in Houston, a
brokerage firm specializing in liability insurance for the health care industry. Linda brings a
great depth of experience to our team with over 20 years of specialization in liability
insurances, with a concentration in medical malpractice and related health care liability risks.
Linda is a graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Business
Administration (BBA) in Finance. She has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
designation through The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and is
currently pursuing the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation. Linda is also active in
professional organizations including North Texas Society of Healthcare Risk Managers and the
American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers.
Linda is actively involved with several charitable organizations, including Susan G. Komen for
the Cure
® activities and events (dedicated to the fight against breast cancer), the Society for
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of North Texas, a volunteer at the YWCA as well as
serving on the Planning Committee for Camp Fire USA's
2011 An Artist's Christmas event.
She is also involved in community responsibilities including serving as the current President
of Women of
Montserrat (WOMS), an organization established from Montserrat, a distinct
residential development in west Fort Worth, that actively pursues charitable endeavors,
including supporting the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Linda is married to Jake Jacobson, the Firm's President and enjoys spending time with family,
especially her granddaughters, Kinsley and Gracelyn. Linda's hobbies include reading,
cooking and pampering her pets.
The support staff at Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC (DJFS) work in tandem with
the partners and professional associates. Our staff has formal weekly meetings with all the advisors
to stay abreast of all client accounts and activity. In addition to preparing reports and monitoring activity,
our support staff is regularly included and involved in client meetings and planning sessions in
order to determine the most efficient and effective ways to provide our services. All DJFS support
staff adhere to the same principles as the partners and our professional associates regarding our
clients' personal and business dealings: absolute confidentiality, full disclosure, professionalism,
and accessibility.

form of academic scholarships for medical students, support and sponsorship of local and
